Peggy Barber
Library Communications Strategies
Prior to launching a consulting practice, Library Communication Strategies, Inc. in 2000, Peggy Barber was Associate Executive Director for Communication for the American Library Association (ALA). She established the ALA Public Information Office, Public Programs Office and the ALA Graphics program, including the widely known "Celebrity Read" poster series. She has chaired the National Coalition for Literacy and the Community Advisory Board of Chicago's public radio station, WBEZ, and now serves on the Board of Friends of Libraries U.S.A. Her current work as a consultant is focused on marketing and communication support for libraries.

Rod Gauvin joined ProQuest in March 2001 and is responsible for microform/microfilm publishing, ProQuest digital newspaper and genealogy publishing; the publisher relations function for all licensed content, and marketing. Prior to joining ProQuest Information and Learning, Gauvin worked for the Thomson Corporation for 10 years. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of South-Western Educational Publishing, and as Managing Director of Thomas Nelson & Sons in the United Kingdom. He held a variety of sales, marketing, and publishing positions with Addison Wesley, Prentice Hall, and W. H. Freeman. He is a former board member of Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library (Michigan); SIIA Education Board; and AAP School Board. Gauvin received his BA degree in political science from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Robin Hoklotubbe joined the San Bernardino County Library in 2000. As the Friends and Volunteer Services Coordinator for the 29 Branch Library system, she is honored to serve the Friends and assist and encourage them in their efforts. She has been married for 24 years to her firefighter husband and has 3 children. She enjoys gardening, homemaking and volunteering for her church and the community.

Laura Salmon is Senior Director, Business Management for the Enterprise & Library group of LexisNexis, serving corporate, federal, and academic customers. She has held this position for five years. Previously she worked for Freddie Mac, Amtrak, and KPMG Peat Marwick. She graduated from the University of Maryland summa cum laude with a B.S. in Accounting, and is a certified public accountant. She lives with her family in Kensington, MD and in her free time enjoys reading, travel and time spent with her family.

John’s career in the library industry includes assignments as Sales Representative, Customer Service Manager, Sales Manager leading up to his present position as National Account Manager for Brodart’s Books & Automation Division.
